STORY

[ The townsfolk outside scream in terror - they are under attack! No matter how strong the item you made before was, it could never prevent the forces arrayed against this land from descending as a violent maelstrom...but all hope is not lost. With what you've made, they can fight. They need only one thing from you - an item of protection to guard against the weapon of hearts that has been brandished against them.

This time, they do not just tell you a story. They also tell you what you are facing. What you must overcome. What you must protect them - and yourself from. If your hearts are not strong enough...

...You will suffer. ]

In the woods there once lived a witch. She was very content and happy and had dreams of a prosperous life for her and her sister. Her life was perfectly balanced and focused. She had a goal and she worked to meet it.

One day, though, everything changed. Someone stole everything from her, her life fell to ruins, and her dreams were shattered. In anger and desperation she brewed a powerful pair of blades that would take the pain away.

When it was ready, she took it. And for a time, she felt better. She could go back to the things she wanted to do. She could be the person she wanted to be. She could start over fresh, with a new life.

And then, like always, it got worse. She felt overwhelming grief and fury. And then she gave up. She didn't want to be better anymore. She wanted to make everything worse.

This is Hopebreaker, a legendary paired blade. It is forged from a heart that contains great hope and rage. It is engraved with an image of an idol living happily with their family. It menaces with spikes of blood. It exudes a hateful aura, inhabited by a spirit of anger.

Well, the opposite of hope is despair. The opposite of happiness is sadness... the opposite of family is no family, I can give like three memories for that one, ha ha ha.
