[Alright. That's 7 damage. Ouch. Plus this will be his 3rd environmental damages round so that's 10 point of damage total. He's easily as they say in DnD, he's bloodied. He holds his hand over the wound as he laughs, that good ol' hyena laugh of his.

First off! He negates Machai Provocation denying the buffs to both Yugi and Anubis. Well, actually to Yugi he switches it to enhance his fear. No mechanical effect, but enjoy that.

Second, everyone's favorite Psuedean Falsfication. He alters Yugi's memory so who he just stabbed was not Nine-Nine, but King. In fact, Nine hasn't been here the entire time. He ran into King and Anubis in the Sandwastes. He really should tell King later to not toss him knives and to hand them over gently.

He rips out the knife from his foot and limps over to Yugi. And the because Anubis so kindly blinded him, he whispers in his ear in Anubis' voice.]

Yugi-kun.

[And stabs him in the side for look at that 7 damage leaving the blade in his side. Seems only fair to give it back.]

[ he had been somewhat numb to all of this, but that all changes the moment nine enhances his fear. he had been terrified earlier, so it immediately starts snowballing out of control. his grip on the sword tightens, because he's shaking like a fucken leaf, eyes slowly but surely lifting to the figure he just stabbed. ]

I- what did I- [ king? ]

[ k- king?! ]

[ DID HE JUST STABBED KING?! ]

[ his jaw goes slack as he stares, wide eyed, up at "king". no. nonononononono. yugi releases the sword immediately, afraid to pull it out as he staggers to his feet, arms outstretched and trembling, because he can fix this. he can make it better. it's ok. really. it's not that bad. ]

[ he tries to calm himself down, but he's helpless to the effects of machai provocation. he takes a step back and grabs at his head, tears spilling down his face freely as he chokes on his sobs. ] K- King, I'm sorry, I... you... [ his legs give and he drops back into the sand, doubling over to scream for all the good it'll do. what has he done?! ]

[ he blames the sudden sweep of sand in his face on the wind, but little does he know! ] A- Anubis? Anubis you can hea- [ he blinks, gaze dropping to the knife in his side. ]

[ you deserve this. the sentiment bounces around his hand as he pulls out the knife without so much as a second thought. ] K- King, please for- forgive me. I'm so sorry. Please... please... [ stares down the knife, because what god given reason does he have to keep going now? ]

grabs the sword off the ground before Nine can go for it, hands shaking as he holds it between him and the other two.]

[That sure is dad Cobalt voice. He turns to regard him and gives him a half wave.

But nah. Don't think I will stop.]

What did I do? I'm trying to win the game.

[Going for the sword steal from Anubis? Is that precision? Barely a success with a value of 4.]

Because both of you don't seem to understand the consequences of not playing.

[ yugi is still a mess. he's spiraling into a void of self loathing and you know where that's going to bring him? he's going to attempt to take himself out, rules be damned. he can't take this anymore. ]

What did Nine say? If I'm dead King's as good as dead too? Then it works in the reverse, RIGHT!

[ he's just barely going to manage stabbing himself 3 5 5, so somebody stop him, maybe. ]

[doing two things at once: grab Yugi's wrist (str(5) 2 2 4, success) and hold tight, wrenching it away from stabbing danger zones, and also heal the wound in his side. enjoy your 7 HP back.]

[Gods bless Anubis! Since he's taking care of Corona, Cobalt can deal with Nine-Nine.

Using Quick as a Wink, he darts forward with a speed of 20 (!!), and, almost too fast to even see, makes to grab Nine-Nine where his neck meets his shoulder to hit him with a powerful jolt of electricity.

Unless Nine-Nine can somehow counter this, he'll be taking -1 HP damage and losing a turn.]

What the ----?

[The jolt makes him spasm and he misses grabbing the sword from Anubis. It takes him a moment to process that Cobalt is even there, holy fuck, he is fast! And well he's down to 2 hp.

Hmmm. Hmmm.

He'd hold up his hands to surrender, but well, he can't do that at the moment. But hey, at least he doesn't take environmental damage this round.]

[puzzlers]

[ he's still going to attempt to stab himself with the nothing he's got in his hand after anubis has wrestled the knife from him. the heal brings him back up to almost full, but he doesn't seem to realize that he's not about the bleed out. nope. his mind is still a mess, because he. stabbed. king. ]

Fine? Fine! [ he looks around frantically. ] If he's so fine then where the hell is he?! [ yugi jerks away and staggers to his feet, ignoring the fight going on between nine and cobalt. ]

He's not here! Please, just calm down...!

[he'd probably be better at being reassuring if he weren't also trying to pay attention to what's going on with Cobalt and Nine.]

[Now that Nine-Nine is stunned, he runs back to Corona Quick as a Wink (speed is 24 this time jesus fuck), and, instead of shocking him, Cobalt gently clasps his head between his hands and applies Cloud Nine.

Any bad emotion Corona is feeling will be swept out of his head as if carried away on a refreshing wave of clean water. He'll still be aware of his bad emotions but they're too far away to reach him now.]

Shh, shh, it's okay. You're okay.

[Turning to Anubis and speaking softly]

Please help Nine-Nine.

[Falling on his ass to the sand. Actually, fuck it, he just lays down completely and puts a hand over the stab wound. He's like 90% sure none of these people are going to finish him off, and 100% sure if he attacks again the terrain will kill him.

Sooooooo, guys......... that was fun.

If Anubis does try to heal him, he will push him away in a 'I'm not going to die manner.']

[ cloud nine successfully sweeps all his negative emotions out the door, but yugi is still acutely aware of them. he just doesn't feel them. he doesn't feel anything. he'll just be staring at the sand like it'll somehow materialize into king so he can apologize profusely for being the worst partner ever. ]

[Cobalt just... hugs him.

He holds Corona tight. Mostly to comfort him, but also to keep him from being able to move around easily in case he has any fight left in him.]

Everything is gonna be okay.

[While he's doing this, Cobalt turns his head so he can see Anubis and Nine-Nine over his shoulder.]

[to Cobalt:]

[he's gonna drops the weapons by Cobalt and goes to... well, stand near Nine, at least.]

[Clawing himself to his feet even after just lying down. He'll give him that much respect. Walking over a few steps and trying to put his head on Anubis' shoulder, fingers tracing his throat.

You are such a puzzle sometimes, Anubis. Push one way, and he react another. Yugi's strings were so easy to play. Oh, but let's be honest, the fact that he can't push him around is one of the things that so enticing about him.]

If I can't win, you should.

[Looks like bad idea o'clock still is ticking. He's positive, almost positive, that Anubis definitely is feeling disappointment, anger and helplessness so he doesn't bother to use Eris Alert to check. How sad that he can only focus on picking one to amplify right now, and that one is his long time favorite --- anger.

Will Anubis win if the death he commits is the most emotionally traumatic to himself? Testing this theory. Funny, even Nine thought he was done with this fight.

Guess not.]

Anubis absolutely lets Nine rest his head on his shoulder, reacting with a sigh. It takes him a moment to register Nine's words, and when he does... he tangles his fingers in Nine's hair, yanking his head back hard.]

Stop it, stop it, stop it! I don't care about winning this stupid game! I don't want anyone to get hurt! Why can't you understand that?!

[his voice rises to a shriek at the end.]

[Cackling and wincing at the same time as his hair gets yanked, it's probably a strange sound.]

It's too late for that. Did you learn nothing from the trial? I won't have you, either of you, fade because you're too stubborn to see it! I will force your hand.

[Still holding Corona, doesn't want to let go unless he has to.

Firmly, with Dad Voice:]

[sorry Cobalt, he's kind of focused on Nine.]

[ yugi is still shaking like a leaf. he can’t seem to get a hold of himself even though the negative feelings aren’t really plaguing him anymore. ] I- I- I killed him. King, I… he… I don’t know what I, King, I’m… K- King…

[Turns his attention back on Corona. Oh man, Corona killed King? He had no idea King was even here. Cobalt immediately regrets all the time he spent farting around with boats. He should have gotten here sooner.]

Oh, buddy... I'm sorry. [rubs his back] King will be okay, though. You can talk it out when the game is over. I'm sure he'll understand.
