Not everyone has to think that way. And some people can't--plenty of us have loved ones on multiple units. Some people might decide to choose units that are unpopular.

It's possible they may choose to protect each other, for exactly this reason.

That's quite possible. And it would be a clever way to solve the matter, for both of them, if they're that in-tune. Does anyone but Mars know them well enough to guess how Baritones or Lilis might play?
