[That's a good way to make sure the darkness doesn't betray you again, yes! Also, I should have moved the thread to level 2 since Fox entered the cave, but. I should be asleep. ANYWAY

You follow the blue light, and eventually it leads you to...



The floor in this space is covered with thick ice and there is a big skeleton with bones made of blue ice as well-- it's a dragon’s skeleton. There are assorted items and weapons around and under the dragon. (Once again, please ignore the three people in the picture!)

There are three other tunnels connected to this dome-- from where you're standing, there's one behind the dragon, one to its left, and one to its right.]

[OKAY FIRST OF ALL LET'S CHECK OUT THIS DRAGON SKELETON]

What a magnificent creature...!

[sparkle sparkle. he makes some finger frames and peers through it to get the best angle for the eventual painting he's going to make of this.

[There are many weapons of many types! Swords, maces, axes, greatswords, daggers... Nothing for long-range combat.

There's also coin, and... a basket... books... a Taisho hat... what seems to be a sketched drawing... pocky... instant pasta...]

[goodness, that's an unusual collection. fox picks up one of the swords and hefts it, feeling how sturdy it is]

[This sword is sturdy! And seems to be a decent sword. But Fox will have a hard time lifting it up. It doesn't look that heavy, but... it is. Wielding it seems to be out of the question.]

[It's a sketch of Sol smiling brightly. You've seen Okami's sketches before, so you might recognize this as his work!

And now that you're taking a closer look at this area, you can see two katanas lying on the ground...]

The first one he tries to pick up --the one that looks like the better weapon-- is too heavy. But the second one is a perfect fit, and Fox can lift it up with ease!]

[If by adding it to your inventory you mean "carry it in your hand," yes... There's nothing as convenient as a magical inventory in this world.

Weapon: Katana

But look! There's a scabbard that seems to fit that katana over there! You'll still have to carry it in your hand, but you won't risk getting hurt in the process. Small victories!]

[for the winter holidays, yes! and probably more recently, he gave sol the sketch he did of him.

is this room a dead end, btw? are there paths that lead anywhere else besides the exit?]

[Then those are definitely here, and being treasured in his room irl. He wouldn't hang up something with his own face on it because that would be embarrassing, but he would store it in a safe place!]

Also this room is not a dead end, there are three other tunnels connected to it-- if you look at the room from where the tunnel you came from, there's one behind the dragon, one to the left, and one to the right.]

[You take a couple of steps inside the tunnel, and-- wait, you can hear voices coming from there.]

"Ahh, it's been so long since the last time I had roasted Ium..."

"Too long! I'm hungry!"

"Hah. I'm the same. But-- that ends tonight."

[The three owners of the voices are getting closer. You can see the faint glow of a lantern starting to illuminate the tunnel... What do you do?]

[These gruff voices don't sound familiar! But since he's paying close attention to that, he may be able to notice something else: some of those steps are... very, very heavy.]

fox will look around the wide area for a place to crouch behind--one of those crystal clusters, perhaps?]

You can hide behind that, yes! And soon you'll see... monsters that ARE NOT TROLLS. There's three of them, and one is much bigger than the others. Their hunched frames are stout and stocky, with abnormally long arms and gleaming claws. If you know goblins-- these are goblins.]

“...But by the time we get there, there’ll be nothing left.”

“You can keep the tree carver for yourselves. I'll take my chances at the village.”

"Whoa, thank you boss."

[They seem to be headed in the direction Fox first came from, and don't notice him at all.]

[fox will stay quietly crouched behind the cluster, watching them. he does not want to alert them to his presence]

[They don't seem to be very cautious. Very soon, they're gone! Fox can hear their steps move away from this room until they can't be heard anymore.

(Goblins don't have to roll not to slip and fall on the ice, it's one of their few perks.)]
