Castle Game: Taisho Roman Revolution

[Suddenly, you hear the wailing of a horn. Outside, tension is turning to panic. You can't see anything, but you can hear people gathering up their things, sobbing in fear or speaking in harsh whispers. A lone voice calls from the distance:

The enemy approaches!

Upon the map, an unfamiliar geography appears -- several small nations, clustered together. Outside of them, an endless sea of enemy forces, identified only by a symbol of a cracked skull. Each of the small nations is marked with a flag in one unit's colour, and a tiny model of a castle.

You are at war. How will you protect your people and yourself?

If I'm honest, I'm kind of terrified.

[ She feels embarrassed and selfish for admitting it, glancing away and wrapping her arms about herself. ]

But the idea of watching you and anyone else on our unit being harmed scares me even more.

We have weathered terrible things before. I am prepared for pain... but that does not mean I will not fight for our survival.

I am against everyone being harmed unnecessarily. That does not mean I like the idea of stealing, even if I am a thief by trade.

Our current number of points is zero. If we do not take action, we will be subjecting them to that fate.

We do not have to steal or gift any of our materials in order to keep ourselves safe for the time being. We can just use what we have and see what happens in the next round.

We do not know if the bundles we have will translate to points. Look at the map— all units are currently placed at zero, not three. Does this not indicate something about how we are scored?

Why would they not translate to points? It seems to me that the points will be calculated after the first round of decisions, and then reflect the current totals.

I am not bothered by that; I am a thief myself, so it is not the ethics that bother me, typically. However, so long as we are well off ourselves, I see no reason to do so.
