Pokemon: The Shopping District

Once you've left behind the quaint little houses where everyone lives, you'll reach the shopping district. Here you'll find all kinds of restaurants and whether it's a cute cafe with desserts and drinks or a fancy place with four-star, four course menus both people and Pokemon are welcome. There are also a number of salon, costume, and toy shops catering solely to Pokemon so you can dress and pamper your partner properly. You can also procure raw items and tools to build and decorate those homes for your Pokemon from a number of the shops in the area.

... [ aaaand there she goes. she's moving her head from side to side, using her antennae to check out the stuff on the shelves. she stops when she comes across a ball with a bell inside, a few cries of her name signaling that she's absolutely delighted by the find. ]

[ yugi is just going to take a deep breath once they're finally alone. ]

[ Eevee toddles along beside her, having apparently decided its her job to help with the toy selection. When Sliggoo stops to examine the ball, Eevee helpfully paws it off the shelf, sending it rolling-and-jingling across the aisle.

King, meanwhile - still supervising from afar - reaches out to take Yugi's hand. ]

Are you alright?

[ she had been bapping it with her antenna and the jingle had been some kind of magical. it's a shame she couldn't get it... oh. she perks up and 'looks' around, though she eventually sets her 'sights' on the ball, which she immediately heads after!!! ]

[ squeezes king's hand the moment he's got it. ] Not really, no. I'm tired of smiling.

[ Eevee hops along after her, tail swishing proudly. She did a good!!! ]

You don't have to, you know.

[ sliggoo is careful not to run the ball over, since then there would be no more ball, and instead skids to a stop when she's close and looks around 'expectantly' for eevee. ]

I feel bad not trying to smile in front of the new people. [ he needs to try to be at his best for them, since waking up with no memories and learning you're in hell sucks enough. ]

[ Eevee trots up behind her, then begins pawing the ball in a circle around her. ]

... Ah.

[ Yeah. That... ]

How many...?

[ sliggo's antennae go nuts as she tracks the ball and then, at some point, lurches forward to grab and... dissolve it. oops. she seems distressed. ball? ball?!? BALL?!??!1! ] Sliggoo sliggoo gooooooooo!

Three. [ he moves closer to king, grabbing a handful of his shirt and hiding his face in his chest. ] It's... a lot...

[ Eevee looks around for the ball for a few moments - where did it go?! - before realizing what... happened...

Then she tries to chirp comfortingly at Sliggoo, leading her back to the shelf of toys. Look!! There's still more!! ]

Three...

[ Wrapping an arm around Yugi's shoulders ]

If you need help... you should let me know. Heart Soldier would be happy to step in whenever you need us.

[ she follows, seeming a bit downtrodden... at least until more balls!!! then she immediately perks back up. ]

Mm. I want them to feel welcome and all that. Kinda like when I first arrived. It was a mess, but my team still did their best.

[ Eevee swats at a cluster of them to send them tumbling every which-way. Take THAT! ]

And I'm sure you're doing an excellent job.

But at least when you're with me, you won't have to pretend.

[ ball overload. she tries to go in about fifteen different directions at the same time... this doesn't work. ]

I hope so...

[ makes a face against his chest. ] I don't have to pretend, but I also don't want to bring down the mood.

[ Eevee reaches out and paws one closer to her. HELPING. ]

Bringing the mood down...? I don't care about that.

[ she tries to be more careful with this one. as soon as it bumps her she's going to attempt to nudge it back to eevee. ]

But I want to see you smile more, King.

[ Eevee trills happily at this development, nudging it right back and then twisting to make sure King saw. He gives her a quiet thumbs up in response before answering Yugi. ]

I smile plenty. Besides... no one can smile all the time.

[ sliggoo moves closer to eevee, since that's the direction she had pushed the ball in and... oh! it's back. she bounces up and down and then knocks it back over!! ]

I... I guess so.

Besides, it's better to smile when it's genuine, right? Look.

[ Gesturing to their Pokemon. ]

Those two having fun is a good reason to, for example.

[ he takes a step back and turns to look at the two of them. ]

[ manages a small smile as he hums a response. the two of them are super cute. ] And, ah, speaking of fun... it kinda seems like we're never going to get a chance to... do that thing we talked about... [ this is, what, the second time it's had to be rescheduled because of something? ] ... [ it's hard not to be disappointed, though he's not upset at king or anything. he can't predict this place. ]

[ sliggoo baps the ball again and trills in excitement as she... starts to glow. her form starts to change in the blinding light until it fades to reveal that she's evolved. ] GoOOoOodra!

[ King's eyes go wide, and Eevee jumps in surprise - then wiggles with barely contained excitement, trilling happily. ]

—Oh!

[ goodra looks absolutely ecstatic for about a billion reasons, but first things first. she bends down to scoops up a bunch of the balls which immediately just get stuck to her. then she grabs eevee into a gooey hug as she makes her way over to king and yugi to sweep them up in the same. ]

GoOoOoodra! [ group hug!!! to some of the nicest friends she’s ever had. yugi gets additional nuzzles, so now his hair is all messed up and covered in goo. oops or something. ]

Goodra, you... [ slimed. ] look great.

[ Eevee exclaims happily at getting swept up into a hug, goo or no goo, and her excitement only heightens when the hug becomes a group hug - wriggling a little closer to King once she's able, and then -

She becomes wrapped in light too, form changing in an explosion of sparkles to reveal someone much pinker. ]

—Ah!!

Woah! [ he’s just as surprised by the double evolution and goodra declares her name happily as sylveon gets many many many!!!! nuzzles. ]

She looks great too! [ wriggles around. ] Goodra, do you, ah, want to set us down now?

[ On top of goo, they are all also wrapped up in feeler-ribbons as Slyveon declares her new name excitedly.

King laughs a little, giving her a congratulatory ruffle on the head. ]

Who knew some fun was all it took?

[ this is... different. ]

[ but the two pokemon are being super sweet, so he's really got no complaints. not to mention he's squished up against king, so, yeah, no complaints! he laughs too, wriggling until he's got his arms free. ]

I can't believe you both managed to evolve at the same time! Guess all it takes is a good time with some good friends.

Well, we already knew about the power of friends, didn't we?

[ And then, to the Pokemon: ]

I think a celebration is in order, don't you?

Very true!

[ goodra sets them all down and then wanders off for a moment to grab a small box of tissues that's sitting at the checkout counter. iiiit's not really going to do much, but she brings it over anyway. ]

I think that sounds great. Goodra? [ goodra hands the box to king and nods enthusiastically. ] Goodra goo!
