Pokemon: Downtown

This is where people come to play it seems. The Battle Arena, where you can challenge your friends, rivals, or anyone really, sits side-by-side the town's Pokemon Center where you can get your Pokemon healed for free after a rousing battle. You and your Pokemon partner (even your entire unit!) can star in short plays to be aired at the movie theater or even beauty pageants showcasing their new hair-cuts and clothes. There's a karaoke bar, a small theme park, an arcade.

Who knows, maybe I've suddenly gone hard of hearing. But if you want to fight, sure. Don't let your little snake get too hurt or nothin.

[ Null stares down at the Dratini, rumbling a greeting that sort of echoes within its mask.]

-- Seimei. Get ready.

[ Null pauses, looks back at her, and harrumphs, getting into position while Plover looks up some of his moves. ]

It's a dragon!

[He says with less conviction then he might normally because it does in fact look (and act like a water snake).

Dratini excitedly follows Null, taking her place on her side of the field and practically bouncing up and down on the tip of its tail.

Intensity raises an eyebrow as she consults her pokedex:]

Need a few minutes?

[earthquaked]

[ puts her phone away. ]

Just double checking something. Right, let's get started-- Seimei, use Scary Face.

[ Null glares and releases a roar, echoing in its wooden mask to slow dratini's further actions down. ]

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

[This noodle is at half speed, yo. Even her happy trills sound like they're coming through a tunnel.]

Scary---?

[Okay, look. He's not one to talk seeing as how many stupid attack names he has yelled in his lifetime.]

Dratini, attack with Twister.

[And with a slow swish of her tail, she sends an equally slow spinning tornado in Null's direction.

Drati! Drati!]

[earthquaked]

Aerial Ace.

[ Null's burst of speed circles around the twister with ease, and he runs in, swiping a claw at Dratini. ]

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

[???

Whoa. He's fast -- thinks Dratini at half speed.

And when Null's claws dig into Dratini's hide, she uses Wrap to start winding around that appendage (which is also uncomfortable spiky) and his torso.

Minding that helmet, yes she is]

[earthquaked]

[ Null growls with surprise, shifting, trying to wriggle out of Dratini's grasp. ]

What the fuck. -- Rage!

[ The pokemon's eyes flash red, and it releases another echoing roar, rearing up to try to slam itself (and Dratini) to the ground. ]

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

Drati...

[She makes a sad deflating balloon sound as it is slammed into the ground dazed and confused. And still slow. And then (without a cue from her trainer) ---

She whirls back with Dragon Rage, shooting a bright blast of energy at Null.]

Drati!!!!

[earthquaked]

[ Null takes the energy blast head on with barely a wince, scorching his fur, and rushes in to madly swipe at Dratini again, snarling.

... and given the effects of Rage, it doesn't register its trainers' calls: ]

Seimei, use-- hey! Listen!

[Is it a free-for-all brawl! It looks like a free-for-all brawl!!!

Dratini also trills at Seimei.

Drati! Drati! (C'mon. You can play harder than that!)]
