Yvette's super fun spy simulator: Session I
Objective: Convince Yvette to leave the Ideal World.
The following is ICly known:
tl;dr The more evidence you collect, the more convincing you are; memories can be used to unlock certain things, but if they run low, you get mindfucked (probably).
All things lost or received during the game will be reversed upon waking or within one IC day, at player’s discretion. The character does not know this ICly.
The following is ICly known:
- Unit abilities are off :)
- Yvette is actively trying to sabotage players
- One tactic is making interaction "pay for play," using memories, specifically those of Yvette. (max 5)
- After 5 memories have been exhausted, false memories will be implanted
- Planted memories will not be accepted as Payment.
- Alternate Payment is negotiable, but the player will lose whatever they give her
- Use of force is highly inadvisable, and the condition for success is extremely low. Failure will result in a false memory.
- Your smartphone works, and can be used to document inconsistencies in the Ideal World.

Re: Library
actually more importantly is this library recognizable. looking around, very casually ]
So this is where you were.
Re: Library
Yvette herself is the stereotypical model of a bookish librarian: her hair in a long, loose braid, she's wearing horn rimmed glasses, and her nose in a book. She barely glances over the edge of her novel
"This is my job, why wouldn't I be here?"
Re: Library
hm ]
How long have you been here?

It is impossible to glean any information from this.
"I don't remember, but I don't mind being here."
Re: Library
Why?
Re: Library
None of the books appear familiar. Yvette herself is reading a book on German linguistics. It is the only book that seems to have any legible text.
Re: Library
Re: Library
Out of nowhere comes a stack of books that seem more real than the others, all on various subjects. Foreign languages, art appreciation, history, but at the top is this.
Re: Library
looking at all the books but honestly the first one is so fucking obviously ]
. . .
"How To Make Friends: The Ultimate Guide On How To Socialize And How To Make Friends And Influence People (How To Overcome Fear With A Smile Book 2)".
Re: Library
Re: Library
[ sets the book to the side, looking to see if the other books are of any interest ]
Re: Library
Re: Library
What made you decide on these books?

"The skill assessment mentioned at the orientation. Didn't you read the introduction?"
Re: Library
Re: Library
While this line of work requires a lot of sacrifice, it is our hope that you are not deterred by the challenge.
After all, giving up the familiar does not always constitute a loss, and there is a wealth of knowledge at your disposal. So learn as much as you can!"
One gets the impression that the expectation is that you go about collecting skills, though it doesn't coincide with the instructions on your phone to convince Yvette to leave this place.
Re: Library
[ almost automatically ]
I'm not interested in doing espionage.

Re: Library
[ glancing up to the staircase ]
