Mori's heart

All at once a rainbow of bright lights feels as if it is bursting through you. It is an intense experience, but not an unpleasant one. As the colours burn through your skin, and lighting begins to spark through your veins, you feel stronger, you could take on the world right now.

Faintly in the distance, beyond the iridescent light show that overwhelms your vision, you can just about make out some silhouettes, but they’re too blurred, too indistinct and too far to tell anything about them. You can’t see them, but you know they’re welcoming you. You’re wanted here, you’re needed here, and the light is guiding you where you’re meant to go.

Well that’s a mood...

[Huffs, trying to shake out his nerves before starting to climb, stepping carefully so he doesn’t slip on slime]

It's a difficult climb no matter how careful you are. The slime clings to the bottom of your shoes, making your steps heavy, and the air gets thin and harder to breathe. The higher you go, the more anxiety creeps into your bones and sinks into your skin.

[Grits his teeth, trying to shake off the anxiety, trying to force himself to remember it's just a game, it'll be over soon, just a little further. By this point, he's done with the slime holding him back, so he will just teleport in little burst as far ahead as he can see, but only as far ahead as he can see]

You teleport up and up, but there's no reprieve. The distance you can see in front of you gets shorter and shorter with each burst, and on one of them, you feel a small tug on the leg of your trousers.

[Frowns, glancing down at that, muttering to himself]

The stairs have to stop at some point...

You look down to see a small green bunny tugging on you.

Heyyyyyyyy buddy.....

[Gonna....weigh if this is a danger bunny or a safe bunny..... Mori likes bunnies, but...]

The bunny looks up at you and does not seem to have any ill intent, he tugs on your pants leg one more time before hopping down a step and looking up at you.

I can't go back now, pal.

[Reaches down to pet]

Okay, but, what if you did? Bunny leans into the petting, you could in fact just stay here and pet the bunny.

I am going to have to take like five million baths after this. You know that, right?

[Sighs....allowing himself one more skritch behind the ears, stretching before starting to climb again]

The bunny looks apologetic, and hops up to follow alongside him.

Want to come with then? Keep me company? I'll try to make it a little easier on you in that case...

[Scooping up the bunny and....seeing if he has his flight unit ability here, opting to fly instead of walk up the steps]

The bunny is startled to be picked up, but settles into his arms.

He can indeed still fly, but as you near the top of the staircase and another door starts coming into view, the bunny starts to panic and scramble in your arms.

The door is that bad, huh?

[Stops flying, opting to stand on the stairs, letting the bunny calm down]

From the way the bunny is quaking in terror, it sure seems to be. Just looking at the door feels oppressive, you hate it, it's painful to be here.

[Well, good thing fear and pain aren't new feelings then. Dropping a peck to the top of the bunny's head.]

Want down?

The bunny looks up at you, then back down towards the bottom of the stairs. Bunny wants very down.

[Crouches down, setting the bunny on the steps]

I'll see you later then.

You set the bunny down, but it doesn't seem any more at ease, rearing up on his hind legs and staring at you pleadingly.

No giving me sad eyes. I came this far, I can't turn around now, sorry.

[Heading for the door, trying to squash down the bad feelings]

The bunny gives you THE SADDEST EYES as you step through the door onto the rooftop of Aldera junior high. A single notebook sits at the edge of the roof, burned and ruined, next to a pair of red boots.

A younger Mori sits on the railing with his back to you, facing out over the ledge.

[Okay his heart is beating like a million miles per hour now, but just going to try and calmly and quietly get closer]

He doesn't seem to notice you as you approach, not paying any attention to anything behind him. He grips the railing tightly, his whole body tense and wired.

[Waiting to talk until he’s close enough, voice slow and calm]
