Pokemon: The Shopping District

Once you've left behind the quaint little houses where everyone lives, you'll reach the shopping district. Here you'll find all kinds of restaurants and whether it's a cute cafe with desserts and drinks or a fancy place with four-star, four course menus both people and Pokemon are welcome. There are also a number of salon, costume, and toy shops catering solely to Pokemon so you can dress and pamper your partner properly. You can also procure raw items and tools to build and decorate those homes for your Pokemon from a number of the shops in the area.

[ gonna go on up to this counter and get herself a taiyaki, and one for Blaze too, whose flame blazes even bigger and brighter as he takes the warm, fluffy pastry into his paws. ]

Not gonna complain about a big dinner, either.

[Gets another pair of taiyaki, one for him and one for Koosh and transfers Koosh, somewhat awkwardly, to his shoulder so he can hold the sweet treat up for him with one hand and munch his own with the other.]

You think the restaurants here take points?

[ Charmander settles back on its haunches and looks completely blissful as he chomps down on his dessert. She rummages for her phone with her free hand and double-checks the rules. After she's chewed a bite of this fucking amazing taiyaki and then swallowed-- ]

If I'm reading this right, then everything is free--even food--so long as we don't try to take it out of the game.

Man, guess I shoulda read all the rules.

[Hhhhesitates, then turns right back around and gets another pair. Honestly, after that last game, the idea that they're just handing food out for free is. Kind of amazing.]

For real. I guess maybe since we have a grocery store no one has to pay for things back home they've loosened up the rules some? But either way, we should enjoy it.

[ this sort of opportunity definitely doesn't come every day. or week. or maybe ever before?? she'll go ahead and snag a second for herself and another for Charmander. ]

[Finishes up the first taiyaki and starts on the second one as he turns to follow her. Koosh is making an absolute mess of the one Hurricane's holding for him, eating just the shell and leaving the custard, to somewhat disastrous effect.]

Well... aside from the umbrella, a hammer, and nails... saws.... Bamboo or thatch? Things you'd need to build a house.

If it's a big enough town, we oughtta be able to get stuff like that no problem.

It seems fairly large, just from inspecting the map...

[ she brings out her phone and navigates slowly but surely to the Pokedex's map function. ]

The shopping district alone is quite big, too--or at least packed. I'm sure we can find something, at least.

[ omg Hurricane....! well saying something would probably not go over well and it's... probably unlikely he can get sick from eating after his Pokemon. It's fine.

ON THEIR WAY they pass some clothing boutiques and home good / decoration and toy stores--the latter of which Charmander plasters himself against the window of until Hiryuu retrieves him by taking his tiny orange paw in his. ]

C'mon, Blaze, we'll come back here later, I promise.

[ This. Only makes him pout, at least until she picks him up and sets him on her shoulders. That seems to set him in a better mood. ]

I mean, we could go in for like a minute or two?

[Koosh is working on the second taiyaki, content and fluffy.]

[ Charmander makes an excited noise and looks up at Hiryuu with big, pleading eyes. IT'S REALLY HARD TO SAY NO TO THAT FACE.... ]

Well, it wouldn't hurt to pick out something to play with while we're doing the un-fun shopping. But we'll probably need their help some to get the job done faster.

Ah - yeah, guess that's true.

They could totally be playing ball in the home improvement aisle or something, though.

As long as nothing gets broken, there's probably no harm in it. C'mon, we'll make a quick stop.

[ Blaze is OVERJOYED and claps his tiny hands together before scurrying in the door, squeezing hit tiny body into the space between her legs and the door to get inside as fast as possible. ]

[Absently licking the leftover custard from Koosh's second taiyaki from his fingers as he follows her in, Koosh tucked into the crook of his elbow.]

What kinda stuff you wanna play with, anyway? What do birds like, bells?

I'm not sure. I've never had a bird... Maybe mice toys?

[ Charmander is tottering over to a stand with squeaky toys. he picks up a rubber bone and chomps it with his mouth, making it squeak

and frankly, he looks really thrilled. But before Hiryuu can asks him if that's what he wants, he's already running off, looking for more. ]

Ah, hey wait!

[ Running... after this naughty child... ]

[Cool. While she does that, he's just going to pick up this fluffball in both hands and kind of... walk him by the toy aisle, like a divining rod, until he picks something he likes.]

[ Eventually--she makes her way back, Charmander secured in her arms. Charmander has a toy tucked under each arm and the squeaky bone in its mouth which it's still just happily chomping away at. ]

Have you had any luck?

[Koosh has a mirror, and a bell, and a ball with lots of hooks and levers with a treat hiding in the middle. He's already trying to do the puzzle to get it out.]

Found a couple things.

It looks that way. Blaze is... he's got himself plenty too.

[ she's a little embarrassed by this greedy lil guy.... but she also finds it a little endearing. help her. ]
