Pokemon: The Shopping District

Once you've left behind the quaint little houses where everyone lives, you'll reach the shopping district. Here you'll find all kinds of restaurants and whether it's a cute cafe with desserts and drinks or a fancy place with four-star, four course menus both people and Pokemon are welcome. There are also a number of salon, costume, and toy shops catering solely to Pokemon so you can dress and pamper your partner properly. You can also procure raw items and tools to build and decorate those homes for your Pokemon from a number of the shops in the area.

Ah. I'm sorry—were you close?

[Airi comes to nestle against him, as if sensing his mood.]

...I, ah, do not remember for certain. I know that she was, ah, fond of me, and asked me to deliver her death poem to her daughter.

...and I, ah, know that I gave her that final mercy.

A small bit of final comfort, at least. You're a good steward to the dying and the dead.

Do you suppose that's how you found your way to necromancy...?

I, ah, knew a little, when I gave her that mercy. But it, ah, makes sense that in general it was probably how I did...

I’d say it’s a bit rare, to see a wandering necromancer focus on such things... at least in the places I know.

...do, ah, most of them focus on creating zombies, or...?

Or calling upon ghosts for knowledge or service, I suppose.

It was... not my thing, though.

Well, I was, ah—recruited to be a soldier and not a sorcerer, I suppose.

The way it was used... never quite sat right with me, anyway.

...I think that, ah, is another reason I was avoiding being in service to any of the Deathlords.

I suppose, ah—there are some that would say the ends justify the means, or who are only aligned with the cause of oblivion incidentally, who care more for power.

...probably some of those are the Deathlords themselves. I don't... I don't know how I justified it, for so long.

...trying to, ah, do the best you could in an untenable situation. In that memory of mine, you mentioned that I wasn't 'chosen' by any of the Deathlords, and the implication was that it was an unusual situation.

Your master probably had some kind of hold over you, whether it was an occult link or something else.

...perhaps. That... that could be it.

[ she doesn't quite sound as if she believes it, though. ]

But whatever it is...you will likely have the answer in time.

...I'm sure. It's less... well, wondering if I'll ever know, and more wondering how I'll feel about what I'll find, when the time comes. Or what it means about me. Do you... know what I mean?

I, ah, do. Even though none of us are the, ah, same people as we were, it is still...sometimes hard to find out.
