Hunger Games: Session 9
[ You find yourself in your respective unit's zone, with a mini-map on your phone, as well as your objectives:

Kill as many competitors as you can.
Destroy zones by breaking their statues.
Not enough action = We start killing you :)
Underneath the objectives is the number of revivals you have left, as well as whatever miscellaneous details about scoring points—killing a unitmate results in negative points, five units will be healed at most, etc.
The starting horn sounds. Let the games begin. ]

GENERAL STORE
There's only booze in the form of water bottles here. I mean, it's actually water in the form of water bottles, but is it really water around BARiTONES?
The statue is a cashier. Please put it out of its misery. (20HP)
Something broke that wasn't supposed to, and the whole store is filled with an odorless white gas. Breathing it in makes you feel sleepy ... Upon entering the General Store, roll Endurance every turn:You can go southwest to the Shopping Street, northwest to the Junkyard, or north to the Construction Site. Or, you can uncover the manhole and escape into the sewers. ]
EVENT: WAR. LUST. FIRE. DUST.
Anyone in the same area as a fire sprite must make the following Adaptability roll:
1-6: You are charmed by the fire sprites, and take one into your body. You are now consumed with the urge to burn.
You are afflicted by Capricious Flame. You desire to "play" and set things and people on fire. You gain the ability to perform an Elemental Thrown attack with Flames, which deals 2d3 damage to multiple targets. If used in the School, Clinic, General Store, WcDonald's, Forest's Edge, or Abandoned Mine, the event Burnin' On The Dance Floor will be activated in that area.
Every action you take that is not "playing" (firesprite speak for setting htings on fire) causes you to take 2 damage and become increasingly more agitated. Capricious Flame can only be cured by using Flames in 3 locations.
7-8: You do not believe in fairies and do not let any of them in. Upset, a fire sprite attacks you with a gout of flame!
You take 3 damage and are afflicted by Sick Burns (Physical), lowering Endurance and Speed by 2. The flame sprite moves to a random adjacent area.
.
9+: You believe in fairies but you're still not going to just let one fuse with you??? Upset, a fire sprite pouts at you!
You take 2 damage. The flame sprite moves to a random adjacent area.
IN ADDITION:
Any fire sprite that is not interacted with for 15 minutes will violently explode, dealing 3d3 damage to everyone in all adjacent areas.
Re: EVENT: WAR. LUST. FIRE. DUST.
[Oh.
[Oh.
[Now she knows what she's been spared for. Entranced, Alisaie reaches out to one of the sprites, and smiles as the flames twist about her fingers.
[It's really rather beautiful, isn't it?]

Re: GENERAL STORE
WAR. LUST. FIRE. DUST.
[Never mind. There's so much more out there that she could be doing. So much more that yearns to be touched-- the construction site, for one. If she'd only been a little faster, a little wiser, she could have bathed that in flame...
[No matter. She'll simply have to make do.]
Re: WAR. LUST. FIRE. DUST.
[It's sad, she thinks as the sprites dance about her fingers, so sad. There should be people with her. It's sad, that the only audience here is her and the sprites. The shelves are empty, the statue is gone, there should be more but it all burns eventually, in dazzling shades of orange and pink and even blue. The shelves twist and warp and then collapse, the flames lick at the base of the walls and about the counter and the sprites are so happy, so happy. Alisaie smiles.
[It's hot.
[(It's far too hot.)
[She's dimly aware of it. Of the flames on her cheeks, the curling and singing of the hairs at her nape, of the edges of her clothes. And it hurts, but it doesn't trouble her.
[Because everything will burn, eventually--]
Re: WAR. LUST. FIRE. DUST.
[It's not the smoke, coming thicker and thicker; she's choking again, but it's not the lack of air. It's not the flame that does her in.
[She's tired. Alisaie is so very tired...
[Her limbs are heavy, her movements slow. Soon it's all she can do to keep her eyes open, and even the game loses its appeal. She drops to her knees in the center of one aisle, eyes fluttering closed; she falls. In the end, it's almost peaceful: sleep claims her, and then the smoke claims her, and then the flames come for what's left.
[She doesn't feel the worst of it.
[But it all burns, all of it, all the same.]
