Mori's heart

All at once a rainbow of bright lights feels as if it is bursting through you. It is an intense experience, but not an unpleasant one. As the colours burn through your skin, and lighting begins to spark through your veins, you feel stronger, you could take on the world right now.

Faintly in the distance, beyond the iridescent light show that overwhelms your vision, you can just about make out some silhouettes, but they’re too blurred, too indistinct and too far to tell anything about them. You can’t see them, but you know they’re welcoming you. You’re wanted here, you’re needed here, and the light is guiding you where you’re meant to go.

You can in fact freeze it over, and with that the air becomes a little easier to breathe, just a little bit.

[neat. he's gonna keep going!]

Behind you, you hear a soft thump, and the sound of scraping on the ice.

[pauses to look behind himself]

A small green bunny is slipping on the ice trying to get to you. Plz help.

Ah...

[taking a few steps back down, crouching down beside the bunny and holding out a hand]

Oh, good. The bunny looks relieved and nuzzles against your hand.

[smiles a little, gently scritching the bunny behind the ears]

Do you want help up too?

It was enjoying the scritches, but at that, it hops down - slipping against the ice again oops.

Easy—

[reaching out to steady the bunny]

...can I pick you up?

The bunny hesitates for a moment, glancing at Todoroki, and then down the steps. It reaches forward and nips onto Todoroki's sleeve, trying to tug him down.

I can't... I need to continue up.

The bunny looks at you with pleading eyes and tries to hop lower. The ice is still slippery for it though.

[reaching out to steady it again, carefully and gently picking the bunny up]

I want to know if I can help, if even a little. That's why I have to continue. I can help you down with an ice slide, if you don't want to come with me.

The bunny is conflicted, it wants to stay with you, but it is absolutely petrified of reaching the top of those stairs. It curls up against Duality and continues to give him the sad eyes.

[... giving him gentle headpats before turning to continue the ascent, cradling the bunny close]

The bunny gets more anxious the higher you go, it's palpable in the air, even if you're no longer walking over that grime it feels like it's clinging to you, staining your skin.

As you near the top of the staircase and another door starts coming into view, the bunny starts to panic and scramble in your arms.

[halts in his steps, and taking one back for the sake of the bunny, looking down at it]

... that door?

Bunny continues to desperately scramble!! Trying to get away from the door as much as it can.

Do you want to go back down?

FRANTIC NODDING.

[crouching and setting the bunny back down on the stairs]

I'll come back. Use this to get down.

[he puts a hand to the corner where the stairs meet the wall, letting a small slide of ice crawl along the wall in a less steep angle than the descent of the stairs. it reaches down to the bottom floor]

You set the bunny down, but it doesn't seem any more at ease, looking down the slide then rearing up on his hind legs and staring at you pleadingly.

I got this far, so I'm not going back down now. I'm sorry. I'll come back, if you want to wait.

[he stands up again, glancing back at the door]

The bunny continues to stare after you as you step through the door onto the rooftop of Aldera junior high. A single notebook sits at the edge of the roof, burned and ruined, next to a pair of red boots.

A younger Mori sits on the railing with his back to you, facing out over the ledge.
