Pokemon: Downtown
This is where people come to play it seems. The Battle Arena, where you can challenge your friends, rivals, or anyone really, sits side-by-side the town's Pokemon Center where you can get your Pokemon healed for free after a rousing battle. You and your Pokemon partner (even your entire unit!) can star in short plays to be aired at the movie theater or even beauty pageants showcasing their new hair-cuts and clothes. There's a karaoke bar, a small theme park, an arcade.

There you are. Would you stop running off already?

I thought cats liked chasing mice.

. . .Just because I've got a tail doesn't mean I do all this "cat" stuff.

[ there is still a lot more like a cat, she thinks, but let's focus on marill for a bit. ]
Partners should stick together, okay?
[ the eevee snuggles Yvette's ankle to demonstrate. ]

Or maybe she just doesn't really know what a cat's like.]
Stick together to do what? They didn't even give us a real assignment, just "here's a weird little water creature, off you go"!

Explore the town, bond with this Marill. For more specific things to do, they posted a set of tasks in the lab you can complete to receive items to evolve them.
You can Deliver mail to 10 residences; Win 5 Pokemon matches; Build a Hideout for your Unit and your Pokemon; Help the construction crew build the day care center; Outfit your Unit's Pokemon to match your style; Share a karaoke jam session with your unit and their Pokemon; Participate in a sand-castle contest; Win the admiration of your peers in a Beauty Contest; Receive a round of applause for putting on a show at the movie theater; or Herd some rowdy livestock.
That's what I remember reading anyway.

[Looks at her Marill, which. . . burbles and chirps happily.]
And I'm, like, completely sure that's not gonna be an option here.

Fine. I guess I'll just lose because they decided to stick me with this stupid, useless little thing.
[The Marill is so ridiculously cheerful its unaffected, at least.]
no subject
They like you well enough, so maybe it might enjoy things you like.

[That's it that's the only thing she knows she likes that doesn't fall under the category of "weaponry" or "teasing people".]

Still kinda feel like someone else should be dealing with this thing.

[ picking up her eevee. ]
Does it have a name?

[ bending down to show it the photos of herself and St. Germain that just got printed out. There's sparkle foil hearts and stars Yvette drew in. ]

Kohime creeps over, her tail twitching, sniffing at the machine dubiously.]
. . .It just takes a picture?
